Development - Details
An essential point is the systematic proceeding of development projects which can be described schematically as follows:
Stage 1: Pre Development Stage
- Listing factors influencing the project;
- Preparation and release of the list of requirements for the subassembly (i.e. technical, economic, strategic and logistic requirements);
- Preparation of solution concepts by the means of methodic design;
- Evaluation of solution concepts in FEM-calculations, process-simulations or pilot tests;
- Assessment of technical and economic feasibility of the solution concepts with regard to their compliance with the requirements;
- Preparation of a feasibility study with an estimation of the probability of success.
If the component part / process is estimated as feasable the main development stage follows.
Stage 2: Realization of series production
After the pre development stage the main developments stage starts. The following activities are done:
- Preparation of the action sequence plan;
- Drawing up and release of a list of requirements together with proper test criteria for the product;
- Building of prototypes by rapid-prototyping procedures;
- Definition of specific test procedures;
- Testing of parts;
- Use of numeric simulations in order to improve function of components or the process reliability;
- Definition of purchase specifications.
